I am very experienced in working with writers for whom English is a second language, and I have edited a wide variety of academic and non-fiction texts and projects, from corporate documentation to journal articles to individual memoir.  My academic background (in the history and philosophy of mathematics and medicine) means I am also very comfortable working with non-fiction projects, intended for a non-academic audience, which feature an unusually high level of technical or historical detail.

The following is an incomplete and non-exclusive list of areas in which I have particular interest and experience:

  • History of medicine (including Histories of Physiology, Biology and Psychology)
  • History of Science and Technology (including media technology)
  • General presentations of medical/scientific discoveries
  • Intellectual Biography
  • Philosophy
  • Psychology
  • Anthropology
  • Political and Economic History
  • Local historical narratives
  • East Anglian Memoirs
